Commercial disputes can be costly, time-consuming and disruptive. Mediation offers a confidential and effective way to resolve disputes without the uncertainty, expense and delay of court proceedings.
As a CEDR Accredited Commercial Mediator, I help businesses and professionals work through complex disputes and find practical solutions that everyone can move forward with.
According to the latest CEDR Mediation Audit 2025, 70% of commercial mediations settle on the day, with a further 17% settling shortly afterwards.
That means around 87% of commercial mediations successfully reach agreement, helping businesses avoid lengthy court proceedings, reduce legal costs and preserve valuable commercial relationships.

Commercial mediation provides businesses with an opportunity to resolve disputes in a confidential, structured and cost-effective way.
Rather than leaving the outcome to a judge, mediation gives the parties the opportunity to explore solutions with the support of an independent mediator.
It can help save time, reduce legal costs and, where appropriate, preserve valuable business relationships.
Commercial mediation is commonly used to resolve:
I am Kevin Harding. For most of my career, I wasn't working as a mediator. I was helping businesses resolve commercial disputes as a forensic accountant and expert witness.
That meant walking into situations where relationships had broken down, significant sums of money were at stake and everyone had very different views of what had happened. My role was to understand the issues, ask the right questions and help move discussions towards a commercial resolution.
Unlike many commercial mediators, I came to mediation through dispute resolution rather than legal practice.
Over more than 30 years, I've worked alongside insurers, businesses and legal teams on claims ranging from a few thousand pounds to more than £170 million. That experience has shown me that every dispute is different, but most people want the same thing -a practical outcome that allows them to move on.
As a mediator, I bring that experience to every case. My role isn't to take sides or decide who's right. It's to help both parties have the conversations that can lead to an informed and workable agreement.

We discuss the dispute, the people involved and whether mediation is the right approach.
Each party prepares the information needed for mediation and work with me to agree how the process will be conducted
I work with both parties throughout the day, helping them explore the issues, identify what is important to them, improve communication and negotiate towards a practical solution.
Where agreement is reached, the outcome is recorded so everyone can move forward with confidence.
If you're considering commercial mediation or would simply like an initial conversation about your situation, I'd be pleased to hear from you.
Every enquiry is treated in confidence, and there's no obligation to proceed.
